Short Halloween Poems For Kids

Enjoy these short Halloween poems for kids as you make your preparations.

Happy Halloween

It’s the night of mischievous fun,
The time of ghouls and goblins galore.
When witches fly on their brooms,
And Jack-o-lanterns light up the streets.
You can be anything you want to be,
A monster, a princess, or a pirate.
There’s candy in abundance to be had,
And everyone is in a celebratory mood.
Happy Halloween!

Bats are Flying

Bats are flying in the night,
Ghouls and ghosts are out to fright.
Jack-o-lanterns burning bright,
Children dressed up having lots of fun.
The spooky holiday we all love,

Once a Year

Once a year all the ghouls and ghosts
Come out to play in the streets and host
A grand ol’ time, when candy is king
And costume parties are the thing

Children dress up as their favourite things
And revel in all the spooky fun
For one night, all inhibitions fall
And everyone just has a ball

Halloween is a Special Time

Halloween is a special time
When witches fly and skeletons climb
The moon is full and the air is chill
And all around there’s a feeling of thrill

Children dress up in costumes
And go out to trick or treat
Collecting candy is their only goal
But they always have so much fun

There’s something about Halloween
That just makes everyone happy
The spooky decorations, the treats, the games
It’s all so much fun!

A Spook-tacular Time

Pumpkins on porches,
Bats in the sky,
Witches on brooms,
Ghosts in the night.
Skeletons on parade,
Crazy costumes galore,
It’s Halloween!
Fill up on candy,
Have a spook-tacular time!

Fun and Scares

Halloween night is drawing near
Fun and scares are in the air
Costumes, candy, and all that jazz
This is one holiday we all love to dabble in
Be it a kid or adult, we can’t resist
The spookiness, the thrill, the excitement
It’s all for one night and we can’t wait
So dress up in your scariest garb
And join us as we party hard.

Dressing Up for Halloween

One day out of the year,
Everyone gets to be someone else.
You can be whoever you want to be,
And no one can say you’re wrong.
You can dress up in whatever you like,
Even if it’s not what’s expected.
It’s a time to let loose and have some fun,
And forget about all your troubles.
So get out your best costumes,
And let’s go have some Halloween fun!

Being a Vampire

Making a Halloween costume is always so much fun,
especially when you can be something you’ve always wanted to be.
This year I’m going to be a vampire, and I can’t wait to see the reaction
I get when people see me out and about on Halloween night.
It’s going to be so much fun to dress up and have everyone think that I’m really scary,
even though all I really need is some good makeup and a cape.

A Ghost – again!

I can’t believe it’s already that time of year,
When everyone’s mind starts to churn
What costume should I wear?
Should I be a cat, or a bat?
A skeleton, or a witch?
I could be a princess or a pirate
There are just so many possibilities!
But in the end, I always seem to come back to one idea
I’ll be a ghost, just like last year.

Making A Halloween Costume

Making a Halloween costume is so much fun.
It’s like a puzzle that I get to solve.
I have to think about what I want to be,
And then find the perfect pieces to make it happen.
Sometimes it’s easy, and sometimes it’s hard,
But the end result is always worth it.
I love getting dressed up for Halloween,
And walking around in my costume, pretending to be someone else.
It’s always so much fun to see what everyone else is wearing,
And take part in all the Halloween festivities.

Let’s have some fun

Since Halloween is almost here,
let’s get ready to have some fun.
There are games that we can play,
both indoors and outdoors.

One game that is always popular,
is playing “catch the ghost.”
You can also try to find the candy,
or go on a scavenger hunt.

Another game that is always a blast,
is going trick or treating.
You can also make your own costumes,
or carve a pumpkin with a friend.

Ghouls and Goblins

Ghouls and goblins,
Fly across the night sky.
The moon is full,
And the time is right,
For tricks and treats.
Witches cackle,
As black cats prowl.
All of nature,
Is alive and well,
On this most magical of nights.

Halloween History

People have been celebrating Halloween for centuries,
But no one knows exactly how or when it began.
Some say it started with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain,
When the barriers between the living and the dead were thinned.
Others believe that Halloween is descended from a pagan harvest festival,
Or that it was created by Christians as a way to distract people from rioting.
Whatever its origins, one thing is for sure- Halloween is lots of fun!
There’s dressing up in costumes, trick or treating, and parties galore!
So get ready to have a spooktacular time!

Halloween is Coming

Do you hear that?
It’s the sound of children laughing,
And jack-o-lanterns grinning.
It can only mean one thing:
Halloween is coming!

Everyone is getting ready,
Pumpkins are being carved,
And costumes are being made.
There’s a lot of excitement in the air,
In anticipation of the fun night ahead.

There will be trick or treating,
Games, ghost stories and more.
It’s such a joy to see all the kids dressed up,
Having a blast on Halloween!

Write Your Own Halloween Poem

Halloween poems should be fun and spooky,
Just like the holiday itself!
Be sure to add a touch of black,
And maybe a ghost or two.

For a really fun time, try rhyming,
It will make your poem even better.
Be sure to have a happy ending,
Otherwise it’s just not right!

Now it is your turn.

Encourage your children to write their own poems and then perhaps you could put them in the comments, or they could write about their plans for Halloween.

Anti-bullying Poems For Kids

Don’t be a bully!

Don’t be a bully
You’re not tough
Making someone feel small
Isn’t cool or fun
It’s just mean and wrong
So don’t do it, don’t be a bully.

Just because somebody is different from you…

We all have things that we’re good at,
But that doesn’t mean we need to put others down.
Just because someone is different from you,
Doesn’t mean they’re worth less than you.
If you want to be a good person in this world,
You should try to be kind to everyone.

Don’t bully others!

Don’t bully others, it’s not fair
They may not be like you, but that doesn’t mean you have to tear
Into them, make fun of them, or put them down
It only makes you look like a jerk and it’s not very sound
Think about how you would feel if someone did that to you
It’s not nice, it’s not fun, and it’s definitely not cool
So just stop it, and be kind instead

Don’t bully me,
It’s not okay,
You’re making me feel small,
I don’t deserve this at all,
Please just stop.

To the bully

why do you torment?
Do you feel strong when you make someone else feel small?
Do you have no friends of your own so you have to make others suffer?
Why can’t you just be kind?
Is it really that hard?
Can’t you see how much it hurts?
Bullying is wrong and someday you’ll realize that.
Until then, we’ll be here to fight against you.

Stand up to the bullies

There’s no need for words when we feel the pain
Be it a shove or a nasty name
We all know that bullying is not okay
It doesn’t matter if you’re small or large
Your feelings are just as important as the next person’s
We have to be kind and help one another
When someone is feeling down
Stand up to the bullies and make them see
That kindness is what makes us strong.

Don’t Listen to Them!

Sometimes people are mean
And they say things that aren’t true
They might make fun of you
Or call you names, too

But you don’t have to listen
To what they say or do
Just keep your head up high
And don’t let them get to you.

Stop bullying day

Dear world, we need to put an end
To all the bullying that’s going on
It’s time for us to realize
That this isn’t right and it has to stop
We’re better than this, we can be kind
And make sure everyone feels loved and respected
So please stand up, let’s make a change
And help to make our world a better place.

Anti-bullying day

This is the day we stand up
Against all the things that make us feel small
We are not going to take it anymore
This is our day to be brave and strong
To show everyone that we won’t back down
We are united and we’re not alone
Let’s put an end to bullying today!

Today is stop bullying day

Today is stop bullying day,
A day for us to come together
And put an end to all the pain.
Bullying has gone on for too long,
Causing people to feel alone.
We need to stand up and be strong,
And let’s make this world a better place,
Where everyone can feel safe and free.

Don’t be a bully!

Bullying is mean, and it’s not right
No one deserves to be treated with such spite
We should be kind and loving and true
And help those who are being bullied too
It doesn’t matter if you’re big or small
You can still make a difference in someone’s life
So let’s all work together to end this strife
And make our world a better place, overnight!

Stand up for your friends

Stand up for your friends, and they’ll stand up for you.
It’s the golden rule that we all know is true.
If your friends have your back, then you’re never alone.
Together you will always stand strong as one.

What we learn in anti-bullying week

This week we learn about
Resilience and ways to cope
And techniques to help when we’re feeling low
How to be there for someone who is hurting
And how to refuse to be a part of the hurtcircle
We learn how to speak up and how to stand tall
When it feels like bullying’s winning after all
We learn that we are not alone in this fight
That there are people who want to see us thrive.

good and bad,

What is Gratitude?

through dark times. I am grateful for my family,

I’m grateful for my family
And everything they’ve done for me.

Grateful for Friends

I have many friends
Some I’ve known for years
Others I’ve just recently met
But each one is special in their own way
And I’m grateful for them all

They offer support when I need it
Give me a listening ear
And are always there for a good laugh
I can’t imagine my life without them

Thank you, friends, for being in my life
I appreciate all that you do
And I look forward to spending more time with you.

The Best of Friends

Even though we’re different,
we come together as one.
We share our happiness,
and help each other when we’re down.
We laugh and we cry,
but we’ll never say goodbye.
We are the best of friends,
and nothing can change that.

My School Friends

Thankful for my school friends,
I couldn’t have done it without you.
We stuck together through thick and thin,
And now I’m grateful for everything you’ve done.

I don’t know what I would have done,
Without your help day in and day out.
I’m so thankful for the memories,
And all the laughter that we shared.

Grateful for my teacher

I’m grateful for my teacher,
who helps me grow each day.
She’s always patient with me,
and makes sure I learn in every way.
She helps me build my confidence,
and guides me as I find my way.
Thank you, teacher, for all you do,
I’m grateful for your love and care!

Thank you, tutor!

Thank you, tutor, for all you’ve done.
I’m grateful for the help you’ve given me.
Without you, I would be lost.
Thank you for your patience and your time.
I’m grateful for the ways you’ve helped me grow.
Thank you for your wisdom and your guidance.
You’ve helped me become the person I am today.

Spiderman Poems – for Kids (including “How Does Spider-Man Breathe?)

Looking for poems about everyone’s favourite superhero, Spiderman? Look no further! This page has Spiderman poems for kids, including “How does Spider-Man breathe?

Spider-Man is amazing

Spiderman is amazing,
He swings from building to building,
Never hesitating,
He’s always there to save the day,
No matter what.
He’s a hero,
For everyone to admire,
And his powers are astounding,
He’s the best there is.

Spider-Man climbing walls

Spiderman, spiderman
climbing up the walls
webbing between his hands
saving people from certain death
because that’s what superheroes do!

Peter Parker

Peter Parker was bitten by a spider,
and gained unusual powers.
He became Spiderman, a hero who fights for justice.
He uses his powers to help those in need,
and always does the right thing.
Spiderman is a symbol of hope,
and he inspires others to do good.

The Green Goblin – Spider-Man’s Arch-enemy!

Spiderman and the Green Goblin,
fighting on the street.
The Green Goblin is a nasty villain,
but Spiderman always beats him.
He’s the wall-crawling superhero,
with amazing strength and agility.
Nobody can stop him now,
not even the Green Goblin.

The Spider-Man Suit

My suit is tight and my muscles ache,
But I’ll do whatever it takes
To save New York City from harm
I’m the man in the Spider-Man suit!

People look at me with awe and fear,
But I’m just like any other person here
I have a job to do and I’m going to do it
I’m the Spider-Man and I’m not afraid!

Is Spider-Man suit bulletproof?

Spiderman’s suit is bulletproof
and no one can see his face
he’ll save us all from danger
and do it with style and grace

People always seem to doubt
the powers that he has within
but Spidey’s never given up
and always does what’s right

He’s strong and he’s fearless
and never hesitates to fight
against evil and injustice
for the good of all mankind.

How did Spider-Man get his powers?

Peter Parker was just your average teen
Until he was bitten by a radioactive spider
This gave him the power to climb up walls
And shoot webs from his wrists like spider-silk
He used his new powers to fight crime
And protect the innocent people of New York
Spider-Man is a hero to us all
And we’re grateful for the amazing things he does.

How fast can Spiderman run?

Spider-Man can run so fast
He could leave this world behind
He’s faster than a bullet train
And he’s never slow to move
He can outrun anybody
Even the Flash can’t keep up
He’s the superhero with the speed
Of a cheetah and the strength of a lion.

How far can Spider-Man Fall?

Spider-Man falls from a great height
He’s flipping and spinning as he falls
The wind rushes past him as he plummets
People are afraid he’s going to die
But then his web-shooters deploy
And suddenly he’s slowing down
He lands safely on the ground.

Spider-Man can See in the Dark

Spider-Man can see in the dark,
No need for any light.
He can swing through the city,
Without making a sound.
His enemies are quaking in their boots,
As they hear him coming near.
They know that they’re not going to make it out alive,
If Spider-Man is around.

Can Spider-Man catch a bullet?

Spider-Man is amazing,
he’s able to catch a bullet;
he swings from webs with ease,
and never has to worry.

He’s agile and fast,
the perfect superhero;
his skills are amazing,
and he’s always ready.

No matter what comes his way,
Spider-Man will always be there;
he’s a hero for our time,
and deserves our respect.

Is Spider-Man as fast as a bullet?

Spider-Man flies through the air
He swings from building to building
He’s faster than a bullet
He’s stronger than a tank
He’s always ready to fight
He’s the Amazing Spider-Man.

How does Spider-Man breathe?

Spider-Man doesn’t have lungs like we do
He has a special organ that helps him breathe
This organ lets him take in oxygen from the air
And it also helps him to spit out webbing fast.

Spidey’s web-shooters help him to swing through the air
And when he needs to take a break, he just hangs upside down
His powers depend on how well he can breathe
So keeping this special organ functioning is key.

Signs of Success – Poems

I hope that you enjoy my signs of success poems.

Signs of Success

The first sign of success is a hunger to achieve
With a burning desire to be better than you were yesterday
The second sign of success is hard work and dedication
Committing yourself to reach your goals no matter what
The third sign of success is resilience
Showing grit and determination in the face of setbacks and failure
The fourth sign of success is self-awareness
Acknowledging your strengths and weaknesses and working to improve them
The fifth sign of success is balance
Finding a way to succeed without sacrificing your health or relationships
The sixth sign of success is support from others
Getting help and encouragement from those who believe in you
The seventh sign of success is personal growth
Continuously learning and expanding your knowledge and wisdom.

Certain Signs

There are certain signs that success is near,
you can feel it in the air,
you can see it in the way people look at you,
and you can definitely smell it.

The first sign is a feeling of excitement,
a certainty that things are going to change for the better.
followed by a sense of calm,
knowing that all the work you’ve been doing is about to pay off.

Then there’s the increased energy,
the desire to get up and do something,
to make your dreams a reality.
After that comes the recognition,
when people start to take notice of what you’re doing.

Signs of Success All Around Us

The signs of success are all around us
The evidence is clear, it’s hard to miss
Achievement is written in the air
And we can feel it in the way that we’re blessed
There’s a confidence in our steps
A belief that no matter what comes our way
We’ll be able to overcome
Because success is something we’ve earned
It’s not a gift, it’s not a curse
But the result of our own efforts
hard work and determination
So never give up and never give in
Keep your eye on the prize
And you’ll achieve anything you desire.

Looking back

The signs of success are all around us,
But we often don’t see them until we’re looking back.
There’s the successful businessperson,
Who has an empire that they’ve built from scratch.
There’s the athlete, who’s achieved the pinnacle of their sport,
And the artist, whose work is recognized and praised.
Then there are those who have simply found happiness and contentment,
Living a good life without any type of acclaim.
Success can come in many different forms,
But it’s always something to be proud of.

I know it when I see it

I don’t know what success looks like
But I know it when I see it
A smile that’s wider than before
Eyes that light up with glee
A heart that’s singing with joy
These are the signs I look for
The proof that all your hard work was worth it
The markers on the road to victory
So don’t give up, keep on fighting
And you’ll find success is in sight.

A Baby’s Smile

The signs of success are all around us
We just have to open our eyes and look
There’s evidence of it in the smallest things
Like a baby’s smile or a sunset’s glow

It’s in the way we feel when we’re at our best
In the accomplishments that we’ve achieved
It’s all around us, if we just take the time
To open our hearts and see.

A Burning Desire

There are countless signs of success,
But the one that matters most is a burning desire
To be better than you were yesterday.
If you have that fire inside, nothing can stop you.
You will blaze a trail to the top and never look back.

Hard Work and Dedication

It’s not the luck of the draw,
nor is it beginners luck.
It’s all about working hard,
and being dedicated.

You’ll never get ahead,
if you don’t try your best.
So always give it your all,
and you will be successful.

There will be times of struggle,
but that only means you’re trying.
Keep going through the tough times,
and you’ll reach the top.

Committed to Reaching your Goals

Don’t be fooled by appearances
Success is not always what it seems
Though it may be hard to see
There are signs that you’re succeeding
And here are a few:

You’re taking action and making progress
Even when things are tough
You persist through the setbacks
You have faith in yourself
You can see the finish line
And you’re always working towards it.

Resilience, grit and determination

Look at them all,
so proud and accomplished.
What makes them so different?

It’s not just a talent or a gift,
but resilience, grit, and determination.
They never gave up, no matter how hard it was,
and that’s what made them successful.

Team Effort

Look all around,
What do you see?
A team that’s unified,
working together for success.

There’s a sense of purpose,
and a feeling of pride.
This team is on a mission,
and they’re not going to let anything stop them.

There are no individual stars,
just a common goal,
and a willingness to do whatever it takes
to achieve it.

So don’t be fooled by appearances,
this team is successful,
because they’re willing to work hard and put their differences aside.

We are a Team!

Look at us, we’re a team
Working together towards one common goal
And nothing can keep us from succeeding
Not even the obstacles in our way

We’re united by our passion and our drive
And we’ll never give up or back down
We’re determined to reach the top
And see all our dreams come true

There are signs of success all around us
In the way we work together as one
And we will continue to climb ever higher
Until we reach the pinnacle of achievement.

Your Family is there for You!

In order to achieve success,
one must be willing to work hard
and put in the time and effort.
But it’s not just up to one person-
success takes a team.
Your family is always there for you,
supporting you through thick and thin.
They are your biggest fans,
and will be the first ones to congratulate you
when you reach your goals.
Their love and support is what keeps you going,
and their encouragement gives you strength.
Thank you, family, for being my biggest sign of success.

Be The Tortoise, not the Hare (Poems about the Hare and The Tortoise)

Be the Tortoise, Not the Hare

Be the tortoise, not the hare
In life, slow and steady wins the race
Don't be fooled by the fast and flashy
The one who endures will reach the end
Think long term, not short term
The gains you make will be worth your while

The Tortoise is Slow and Steady

The tortoise is slow and steady
While the hare is quick and jumpy
The tortoise is a symbol of endurance
While the hare is a symbol of haste

The tortoise plods along at its own pace
While the hare races ahead without thinking
The tortoise will reach its destination
While the hare may never make it there.

Not the Flashiest

Slow and steady wins the race
The tortoise knows this better than most
He's been around for years, through thick and thin
He's not the flashiest, but he'll get there in the end
Others may be faster, but they won't last long
The tortoise is patient and consistent – he's a survivor
When the race is over, he'll still be going strong.

When You Rush You’ll Only Tire

Slow and steady wins the race
Be the tortoise, not the hare
When you rush you'll only tire
The prize will be yours for the taking
If you just take your time
You'll be surprised what you can achieve.

The Tortoise Is The One Who Wins

Slow and steady, the tortoise is the one who wins
The race against the hare, the fastest of all creatures
Though often underestimated, the tortoise is a force to be reckoned with
When it comes to perseverance and determination
In the end, the tortoise always prevails.

The Survivor

slow and steady
he keeps on moving
never giving up
he’s a survivor
through the good and bad
the tortoise is patient and consistent

The Courage To Start

You'll be surprised what you can achieve,
When you put your mind to it and try,
You can do anything that you believe,
So don't be afraid to try.
The sky's the limit when it comes to what you can do,
Just look inside yourself and find that power,
There's nothing that you can't do or conquer,
If you just have the courage to start.

The One Who Endures Will Reach The End

In life we all endure
A journey that is never ending
With hardships and heartache
But the one who endures will reach the end
Their trials have made them stronger
And they have found their courage
In the end, they will be rewarded
For their faith and perseverance.

In The End, The Tortoise Always Prevails

In the end, the tortoise always prevails
He's been around for centuries and he knows how to survive
He's slow and steady, never giving up or backing down
On his back is a hard shell that protects him from harm
He's the symbol of perseverance and determination
When the chips are down, the tortoise is always there
This humble creature is an inspiration to us all
He reminds us that slow and steady wins the race.

Definition for a Growth Mindset (And Growth Mindset Poems for Kids)

What Is a Good Definition for a Growth Mindset?

This Poem gives a good definition of a growth mindset.

A Growth Mindset

A growth mindset is believing that you can grow and improve your abilities.
With a growth mindset, you focus on effort and learning, not intelligence or talent.
You see the struggle as a necessary part of the process of learning and becoming smarter.
People with a growth mindset welcome challenges because they know that overcoming them will make them smarter.

Let’s unpack that with an example:

Growing up, if you wanted to be like your friends or the people in TV and movies, you had to have a “fixed mindset”. That is, you believed that you were just born with certain abilities and that there was nothing you could do to change or improve them. If you had a “growth mindset”, on the other hand, you believed that with hard work and dedication anything was possible. You saw yourself as a student learning and growing every day. This difference in mindset can have huge implications for your success in life.

Kids with a growth mindset believe that their ability to learn and grow is natural and inevitable. This mindset encourages them to keep working hard, even when they don’t see immediate results, because they know that the process of learning is always beneficial.

These poems below are perfect ways to encourage your kids to have a growth mindset, and also give you some ideas for your own growth-minded poems.

There are also some poems that are for you.

Some Growth Mindset Poems

You Become Who You Are

A growth mindset is a belief that you can improve with practice

You’re not born smart, or talented, or able

You become those things through hard work and dedication

It doesn’t matter where you start, only where you end

So strive for greatness, and never give up.

With a Growth Mindset You Can Thrive

There is no one-size-fits-all approach

For what it takes to grow and be great

But with a growth mindset you can thrive

Believing that you can always improve

No matter how hard things may seem

It’s the ability to keep on learning

And never give up on your dreams.

Growth Mindset

You Can Get Better

The definition of growth mindset

Is when you believe that you can get better

With dedication and practice

You’ll see results that will amaze you

This is the key to a successful life

So keep your head held high

And never give up on your dreams.

The Benefits of Having a Growth Mindset

A growth mindset is best because it helps you overcome your fears it helps you be successful it gives you the confidence to try new things

The power of a growth mindset is that it can help you overcome your fears.

You Can Achieve Almost Anything

Not having a growth mindset,

you’ll get left behind,

while others pass you by.

But with a growth mindset,

you can achieve almost anything.

Your potential is limitless,

so don’t be afraid to try.

No one knows everything,

but with a growth mindset,

you’re always willing to learn.

You’ll make mistakes along the way,

but that’s how you’ll grow.

The sky’s the limit when you have a growth mindset,

so don’t be afraid to dream big!

If You Have a Growth Mindset

How to help your child develop a growth mindset

Imagine a world where everyone is growth-minded. In this world, people see their potential as an opportunity to learn, grow, and become better versions of themselves.

They aren’t afraid to make mistakes – because they know that learning from them is how they will become better learners and ultimately more successful.

This mindset has the power to change everything, including how we view our education, our careers, and ourselves.

Help your child to thrive

If you want your child to thrive

and have a growth mindset,

start with these simple tips:

Encourage them to try new things,

and learn from their mistakes.

Celebrate every success,

big or small.

Help them develop a can-do attitude,

and teach them to persevere.

Let them know that intelligence can be developed,

by praising their effort, not just their results.

Lastly, model a growth mindset yourself.

Not everything in life is a race

There is no finish line and no prize

The only way to succeed is to keep moving

And that’s something that we all can learn

When things don’t go our way, don’t give up.

Remember it’s not about what you’ve done

It’s about what you’re doing and what you will do

So let’s help our children grow their mindsets

Encouraging them every step of the way.

Try New Things

If you want your child to grow

A mindset that won’t give up

Encourage them to try new things

And never be afraid of making mistakes

Talk to them about the power of learning

How it can help them overcome anything

Help them see failure as a stepping stone

So they can reach their goals and dreams.

Nature is on display

in all its glory

A colourful carpet spread

underneath the feet

of the daffodil.

Yellow, jolly and gay

Smiles at me from under the May Day sun

A harbinger of spring that is just begun

Bringing with it hope of a new day

A joy to behold in the fresh young springtime

Symbol of rebirth and new beginnings.

Daffodil, daffodil

Daffodil, daffodil,

the prettiest flower in the spring.

You are so yellow and pure,

such a delight to look at.

Your petals are so soft,

your fragrance is so sweet.

The Sight of Daffodils

I love the sight of daffodils

Yellow and orange against the green

They remind me of the Springtime

When all things are new once again

I can’t wait to see them in my garden

Landing like sunny butterflies

Bringing hope that Winter is ending

And Summer is on its way.

Daffodils are Blooming

Daffodils are blooming

and the smell of spring is in the air.

The sun is shining and the sky is blue.

The Eternal Daffodils

The eternal daffodils

We see them in the spring

They bring us happiness

And remind us of new beginnings.

Daffodils, daffodils

What a beautiful sight

As the yellow and white

Blossom in the light

The fragrance in the air

Is such a delight

Cheerful Display

So early in the year.

You Make Everything Seem Just a Little Brighter

Is there anything as cheerful as a field of daffodils,

Niagara of yellow spilling out all over the place?

Marching in step with the sun, they bring such happiness,

Like a smile from Heaven, a sign that Spring is here.

Daffodils, you make everything seem just a little brighter,

Even on the grimmest of days, your sunny presence is felt.

Nature’s Message That Spring is Here

Daffodils blooming by the side of the road

Cheerful yellow faces in the April breeze

Their happy fragrance a joy to behold

March slowly giving way to April’s hope

Nature’s message that spring is here

Budding trees, burgeoning flowers

All sing of new beginnings.

Emerging from the Soil

Daffodils emerging from the soil

Cheerful yellow petals in the sun

Fresh and new, they stand out in the field

A sign of spring, a signal to be happy

Their fragrance fills the air

Bringing joy to all who smell them

Long may they stay, to bring happiness

These symbols of rebirth.

Each Spring You Grace Us With Your Presence

Daffodils, you are so lovely

Each Spring you grace us with your presence

Your golden trumpets always announce

The arrival of a new season

We can’t help but smile when we see you

Especially when your petals are wet

From a recent spring shower

Your beauty is unsurpassed by any other flower.

Daffodils Awaken In The Morning

Daffodils awaken in the morning

As the sun starts to peek

They open up their petals to the world

Sharing their beauty with everyone they see

They are a symbol of hope

And remind us that spring is on its way.

Everyone Loves a Daffodil

Daffodils, daffodils

Bringing happiness wherever they go

Their smile is as bright as the sun

Yellow and orange, their petals so bright

They make everyone smile with just their sight

These flowers bring nothing but joy

Even when the days are filled with sorrow

Everyone loves a daffodil.

Daffodil Bulbs Are Poisonous

Daffodil bulbs are poisonous,

Causing a stomach upset if eaten.

So don’t chew on them, or eat them,

Or you’ll be feeling quite sick.

Do Daffodils Grow Back Every Year

Yes, daffodils grow back every year.

You can mark their return

By the fresh green spears

That poke through the melting snow.

Their cheerful yellow blooms

Let you know that spring is here,

Bringing new life to the earth.

How Long Do Daffodils Last?

The daffodils last for weeks,

Bringing color to the lawn;

Catching the eye as they sway

In the early morning sun.

Each day they are a little different,

With new buds just starting to show;

Soon they will be at their peak,

An explosion of yellow and white.

But even when they start to fade,

They remain a cheerful sight;

And we can’t help but smile

At the sight of daffodils in bloom.

Golden Daffodils

Golden daffodils so bright and gay,

Smiling in the morning sun.

They bring a touch of springtime to our day,

A sign that winter’s done.

The world is new again with their arrival,

A fresh start for each and every one.

We can’t help but smile when we see them swaying,

In the breeze, so proudly on display.

A Hardy Perennial

Daffodils are a hardy perennial

That will come back again and again

They are always cheerful and bright

And add a touch of color to any scene.

Bright Yellow Trumpets

bright yellow trumpets

speaking of spring

and rebirth

bidding us to come and see

what new life has sprung.

Don’t Eat Daffodil Bulbs

Don’t eat daffodil bulbs,

they’ll make you sick,

I learned the hard way,

now I’m warning you.

You’ll get a tummy ache,

and feel like you’re going to die,

just don’t eat the bulbs,

and you’ll be fine.

Autumn trees and a windy path

Autumn Trees

The leaves fall gently from the tall trees
Each one a different colour, red, orange, yellow
The leaves swirl around in the autumn breeze
Landing softly on the ground below
The trees are a beautiful sight to see
Especially when their leaves are changing colour
Nature is so amazing and full of surprises
I can’t help but stand and stare.

Examples of Free Verse Poetry – About Free Verse

I Sit Here

I sit here,

pen in hand,

thinking of what to write.

There’s so much I want to say,

but I don’t know where to start.

I could write about the love I have,

or the love I’ve lost.

I could write about the good times,

or the bad times.

I could write about my hopes and dreams,

or my fears and doubts.

But instead, I’m going to write about this poem.

My Free Verse Poem

This is my free verse poem

I don’t need any rules

Which is why I love them so much.

And it flows without any rules.

There’s no need to fuss over form,

Or worry about what others will say.

This is my poem, my creation,

And I’m free to do as I please.

This poem is just free verse

It doesn’t have a set rhyme

Or a specific meter to follow

Other ways to say “said” (Poems for KS2)

I Chanted

I chanted and the wind carried my voice

I chanted and the stars shone in the sky

I chanted and the trees whispered in the forest

I chanted and the moon smiled down on me

I chanted and Nature heard my plea

Now I am One with the Universe.

He Asked

He asked if I was happy

and if my life was good

I told him of my struggles

and how I sometimes felt misunderstood

He listened closely and intently

and then he grabbed my hand

And with a smile he said

“I’m glad you’re here, with me.”

They Boasted

They boasted of their conquests,

Of the battles they had won,

But I could see the fear in their eyes,

Hiding behind their facade.

They would boast about their strength,

And how they were never scared,

But I could see the uncertainty,

In the way they would glance around.

The Teacher Explained

The teacher explained the lesson

But no one seemed to be paying attention

She tried to engage us in discussion

But we were all too busy chatting

The teacher kept on speaking

Though we weren’t really listening

She showed us examples and diagrams

Which we didn’t even bother to look at

Finally, the bell rang

We put our books away

And silently filed out of the room

Thanking the teacher for her time.

The Parent Mumbled

The parent mumbled,

As they rocked their child to sleep,

The worries of the day

Fading away with the night.

They murmured a prayer

For their child’s safety and well-being,

And for blessings to be showered

On them both for the coming days.

The parent smiled,

Staring at their precious child,

Thanking God for giving them

This moment of peace.

The Footballer Shouted

The footballer shouted

As he kicked the ball

It flew across the field

And hit the net

The crowd went wild

He was the hero of the day.

The Girl Chuckled

The girl chuckled,

Clearly amused by something I said.

I asked her what was so funny,

But all she would tell me was “nothing”.

The Clown Called

The clown called, in a voice that was sad and tired.

He said he was tired of being laughed at, tired of the make-up and the games.

He said he just wanted to be himself, but no one would let him.

They only wanted to see him smile and dress up like a fool.

But the clown said he was tired of their jokes and their mockery.

Tired of pretending to be someone he wasn’t.

Maybe one day, they’ll let him be himself.

But for now, he’ll keep playing his part.

The Man Whispered

The man whispered,

And the world whispered back,

We all have a story to tell,

Some are louder than others,

But each one is worth telling,

For it makes us who we are.

The Thief Lied

The thief lied when he said

he only wanted to take a little

his greed got the best of him

and he took more than he needed

now he’s paying the price

his conscience is eating him alive

he wishes he could go back in time

and undo what he’s done.

The Friends Giggled

The friends giggled.

It was such a delight,

To share in one another’s company.

We laughed and joked,

And had a blast,

Just being with each other.

There’s nothing quite like,

The feeling of joy,

That comes from being with pals.

The Witch Cackled

The witch cackled and the children screamed.

It was a sound that sent shivers down your spine.

Her laugh was harsh and cold,

Like the winter wind that blows through your town.

She was a wicked woman,

And everyone knew it.
